Ectoparasites

Ectoparasites are tiny organisms that live on the outside of a host, such as humans or animals, and feed on their blood or skin. Common examples include fleas, lice, ticks, and mites. They can cause discomfort, skin irritation, and sometimes transmit diseases. Ectoparasites typically latch onto their host for nourishment, often hiding in hair, fur, or bedding, making them challenging to eliminate. Proper hygiene, treatment, and sometimes medication are necessary to control infestations and prevent health issues associated with these external parasites.
