ectoderm

The ectoderm is one of the three primary layers of cells formed during early embryonic development. It develops into many essential parts of the body, including the skin, hair, nails, and the nervous system (brain and spinal cord). Essentially, the ectoderm gives rise to structures involved in covering the body and transmitting signals, playing a crucial role in forming the body's outer covering and parts of the nervous system that control movement, sensation, and communication between the brain and the body.
