ECSC (European Coal and Steel Community)
The European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) was an organization created in 1951 to regulate and integrate the coal and steel industries of its six founding countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. Its main goal was to promote economic cooperation, prevent conflicts, and enhance stability in post-World War II Europe. By poolimg resources and ensuring that no single country could dominate these critical industries, the ECSC laid the groundwork for further European integration, eventually contributing to the formation of the European Union (EU). It was dissolved in 2002 as its functions were absorbed into the EU framework.
