Ecotage

Ecotage refers to acts of sabotage aimed at protecting the environment by intentionally disrupting activities that harm nature. Often carried out by environmental activists, it involves damaging machinery, blocking operations, or disrupting supply chains of environmentally damaging projects like deforestation, pollution, or resource extraction. The goal is to draw attention to environmental issues and push for change through non-traditional, sometimes illegal, direct action. While controversial, ecotage seeks to prevent greater environmental harm by making destructive activities more costly or difficult. It highlights a stance that urgent environmental protection can sometimes justify unconventional methods.
