Economic Community of West African States

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is a regional organization formed in 1975 to promote economic integration, stability, and development among West African countries. It aims to facilitate free trade, cooperation on security issues, and political stability across the region. By working together, member nations seek to improve their economies, reduce poverty, and address shared challenges such as conflicts and health crises. ECOWAS also provides a platform for diplomatic dialogue, development initiatives, and collective action to enhance the well-being of its 15 member states and their citizens.
