EcoHomes

EcoHomes was a UK standard used to assess and rate the environmental performance of residential buildings, focusing on their sustainability and energy efficiency. It evaluated factors such as energy consumption, water use, materials, waste management, and overall environmental impact. The goal was to encourage architects and developers to design homes that are eco-friendly, cost-effective to run, and healthier for occupants. Although EcoHomes has been replaced by the BREEAM Communities standard, it contributed to raising awareness about sustainable building practices within the UK housing industry.
