Eckert-Mauchly Computer Corporation was an influential early computer company founded in 1946 by John Eckert and John Mauchly, who were pioneers in computer technology. They developed some of the first stored-program computers, such as the UNIVAC I, which was among the first commercially successful computers. The company played a key role in advancing computer design and automation, making computers more practical for business and government use. In 1951, it was acquired by Remington Rand, further cementing its legacy in the history of computing innovation.
