Echo (ultrasound)

An ultrasound echo uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the inside of the body. A device called a transducer sends sound pulses into tissues; these waves bounce back when they hit different structures like organs or blood flow. The machine measures the returning echoes and converts them into real-time images on a screen. This technique helps doctors evaluate organs, detect abnormalities, and guide certain procedures. It’s a safe, non-invasive method that provides detailed visual information without using radiation.
