Echo Sounder

An echo sounder is a device used to measure the depth of water beneath a boat or ship. It works by sending a brief sound pulse (or "ping") downward into the water. When the sound hits the bottom or an object, it bounces back to the device. The echo sounder then calculates the depth based on the time it took for the sound wave to travel to the bottom and return. This technology helps navigate, map the seafloor, and identify underwater hazards efficiently and accurately.
