Echo Reply

An Echo Reply is a message that a device sends back after receiving a signal, confirming it received the transmission correctly. In network communication, especially with the Ping command, a device sends a small message to another device, and the second device responds with an Echo Reply. This exchange helps determine if the first device is reachable and measures how long it takes for the message to travel back and forth, which is useful for troubleshooting connectivity issues or checking network status.
