Echo Perception

Echo perception is the ability to perceive sounds that bounce off surfaces and return to the listener, similar to how bats use echolocation. In psychoacoustics, this involves understanding how our brain processes these delayed sounds to discern distance, direction, and the environment's shape. For example, if you shout in a canyon and hear your voice bounce back, your brain interprets the time delay and the sound's characteristics to help visualize the space around you. This phenomenon contributes to our spatial awareness and enhances our understanding of our surroundings.
