Echo Meter

An Echo Meter is a device used by scientists, especially marine biologists, to study underwater life. It works by sending out sound waves—called sonar—that travel through water. When these sound waves hit objects like fish or other underwater features, they bounce back to the device. The Echo Meter then analyzes these returning sound waves to determine the location, size, and even movement of the objects. This technology is valuable for monitoring fish populations, mapping underwater habitats, and studying aquatic ecosystems without disrupting or harming the environment.
