echo chambers

An echo chamber is a situation where you're mainly exposed to viewpoints that reinforce your existing beliefs, often within a closed environment like social media or groups. This occurs because algorithms or personal choices tend to show you content similar to what you've engaged with before. As a result, your opinions can become more extreme or one-sided, since you're not regularly challenged with different perspectives. Echo chambers can limit understanding and increase polarization, making it harder to see issues from multiple sides and fostering more extreme positions within the community.
