EBV Infection
Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is a common virus that infects most people at some point in their lives. It primarily spreads through saliva, often during kissing or sharing drinks. EBV can cause infectious mononucleosis, or "mono," which leads to symptoms like fatigue, sore throat, fever, and swollen lymph nodes. After infection, the virus stays in your body in a dormant state and can reactivate without causing symptoms. Most people recover fully, and while EBV is sometimes linked to certain cancers or immune conditions, many remain asymptomatic or experience mild illness.
