Ebstein's Anomaly
Ebstein's anomaly is a rare heart defect where the valve that controls blood flow between the right atrium and right ventricle doesn't develop properly. Instead of functioning correctly, the valve is displaced downward into the right ventricle, causing it to be enlarged and leading to inefficient blood flow. This can result in symptoms like breathlessness, fatigue, and in severe cases, heart failure or arrhythmias. The severity varies; some individuals live normal lives, while others may require medication or surgery to improve heart function. Early diagnosis and management are important to address potential complications.
