Ebbinghaus's experiments
Ebbinghaus conducted experiments in the late 19th century to understand how we forget information over time. He memorized lists of nonsensical syllables and then tested himself at various intervals to see how much he remembered. His findings revealed that memory loss happens rapidly at first and then slows down, forming what’s called the "forgetting curve." He also discovered that reviewing material multiple times helps reinforce memory, making it easier to recall later. His work laid the foundation for understanding human memory and how learning and forgetting function over time.
