Eastern Ghats
The Eastern Ghats are a series of mountain ranges along the eastern coast of India, stretching approximately 1,000 kilometers from West Bengal to Tamil Nadu. They are composed of ancient rocks and are less continuous than the Western Ghats, with gaps called valleys. The ranges influence climate, rainfall, and river systems in the region. While not as high as the Western Ghats, the Eastern Ghats support diverse ecosystems, forests, and mineral resources. They serve as important ecological zones, contributing to agriculture, water sources, and biodiversity in eastern India.
