East Side Gallery
The East Side Gallery is a well-known open-air art gallery in Berlin, Germany, showcasing a remaining section of the Berlin Wall. It spans approximately 1.3 kilometers along the River Spree and features over 100 murals painted by artists from around the world. Originally built in 1961 to prevent East Germans from fleeing to the West, the wall became a symbol of division. After the wall fell in 1989, artists transformed parts of it into a vibrant display of creativity and hope. Today, the East Side Gallery serves as both a historic monument and a powerful testament to freedom and artistic expression.
