Earth-centered universe
An Earth-centered universe, also known as the geocentric model, is the idea that Earth is at the center of the universe. In this view, all planets, stars, and the Sun revolve around Earth. Historically, this model was used because it seemed to match observations and placed humans at the universe's center. However, modern astronomy shows that the Sun is at the center of our solar system, and Earth orbits the Sun. The Earth-centered model was an important step in understanding the cosmos but has since been replaced by heliocentric (Sun-centered) theories based on scientific evidence.
