Earned Schedule Theory

Earned Schedule (ES) Theory is a project management method that improves how we measure project progress and schedule performance. Unlike traditional methods that focus on how much work is completed (Earned Value), ES analyzes the scheduled time at which work is actually earned or completed. This approach provides a clearer picture of whether a project is ahead, behind, or on track by comparing the planned timeline with real progress. It helps project managers better forecast completion dates and identify delays early, making schedule control more accurate and effective.
