EANx (Enriched Air Nitrox)

EANx, or Enriched Air Nitrox, is a breathing mixture used in scuba diving that contains a higher percentage of oxygen than regular air. Standard air has about 21% oxygen, while Nitrox typically contains 32% or 36% oxygen. This higher oxygen content reduces the amount of nitrogen absorbed by the body during dives, decreasing the risk of decompression sickness and allowing longer or safer dive profiles. However, it requires special training because of increased oxygen levels, which can be toxic at higher pressures. Proper use of EANx enhances safety and extends bottom time for divers.
