Eagle (Apollo 11 Lunar Module)

Eagle was the lunar module that carried astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from the Apollo 11 spacecraft to the Moon's surface in 1969. Designed specifically to land on and take off from the Moon, it consisted of two parts: the descent stage, which housed landing gear and equipment for landing, and the ascent stage, which contained the crew’s cabin and systems needed to return to orbit. Eagle’s successful landing marked humanity’s first automated visit to the lunar surface, enabling astronauts to explore, collect samples, and perform experiments.
