Eadred

Eadred was a king of England who reigned from 946 to 955 AD. He was part of the royal House of Wessex and became king after his brother, King Eadwig. Eadred worked to strengthen royal authority and unify England during a time of regional independence. His reign included efforts to secure control over York and the northern regions. Eadred is known for his administrative skills and for maintaining stability, but he died relatively young at about 33 years old, which led to his successor, Eadwig, taking the throne.
