Eadmer

Eadmer was a English monk and historian from the 11th and 12th centuries, closely associated with the Canterbury Cathedral. He is best known for his detailed writings supporting the reforms of the Church and for his reliable account of the events surrounding the Investiture Controversy— the conflict over who had the authority to appoint church officials. Eadmer's work provides valuable insight into medieval religious and political struggles, as well as the efforts to strengthen church independence from secular rulers. His writings remain important sources for understanding church history during that period.
