E85
E85 is a type of fuel for vehicles, primarily composed of ethanol—an alcohol made from crops like corn and sugarcane—mixed with gasoline. It contains up to 85% ethanol, making it an alternative to regular gasoline. Vehicles equipped to use E85 are called flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) and can switch between gasoline and E85. E85 burns cleaner than traditional gasoline, potentially reducing emissions. It’s often more affordable and renewable, but since it produces less energy per volume, engines may have slightly lower fuel economy when using E85 compared to gasoline.
