dyssynchrony

Dyssynchrony refers to a situation where different parts of the heart do not beat in sync. Normally, the heart’s chambers coordinate their contractions to efficiently pump blood. When dyssynchrony occurs, these parts beat out of sync, reducing the heart’s ability to pump effectively. This can happen in conditions like heart failure or when electrical signals in the heart are delayed or abnormal. Think of it like an orchestra where different musicians are not following the same rhythm, resulting in a discordant performance that hampers the overall harmony and function.
