Dysplastic Nevus
A dysplastic nevus, also known as an atypical mole, is a benign (non-cancerous) skin lesion that appears similar to a regular mole but has irregular features such as uneven borders and mixed colors. These moles are often larger than common moles and may develop on sun-exposed skin. While most dysplastic nevi do not become cancerous, they can sometimes increase the risk of developing melanoma, a serious skin cancer. Regular skin checks by a healthcare professional are important to monitor any changes in these moles. If needed, they can be removed to reduce potential risks.
