Dynasties 21-25

Dynasties 21-25 of ancient Egypt, spanning approximately 1069-945 BCE, mark the Third Intermediate Period, a time of political fragmentation and divided power. Dynasty 21 saw the high priests of Amun gaining influence in Thebes, leading to a decline in royal authority. Dynasties 22 to 25 included foreign rulers, such as the Libyans and Nubians, who controlled parts of Egypt. Despite the turmoil, these dynasties were characterized by cultural continuity and artistic achievements. The gradual reunification efforts eventually paved the way for the establishment of the later, more stable New Kingdom period.
