Dutch nobility

Dutch nobility is a historic social class comprising families granted noble status, often through royal or aristocratic recognition. Members typically hold titles such as "count," "baron," or "lord," and have traditional privileges and social standing. In modern the Netherlands, nobility is largely symbolic, with titles inherited or bestowed but without formal political power. The nobility often plays a role in cultural and ceremonial aspects of Dutch society, maintaining historic estates and participating in certain official events, but they are considered private citizens without special governmental authority.
