Dutch Lipid Clinic Network

The Dutch Lipid Clinic Network (DLCN) is a scoring system used by doctors to diagnose familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), a genetic condition causing high cholesterol levels and increased heart disease risk. It considers factors like family and personal history of heart disease, cholesterol levels, physical signs (like tendon thickening), and DNA evidence. Based on these, patients score points, classifying their probability of having FH from unlikely to definite. This helps healthcare providers identify those at higher risk and decide on appropriate treatment and family screening strategies.
