Durotriges

The Durotriges were an Iron Age tribe that lived in what is now southwestern England, including areas like Dorset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset. They existed around 600 BC to the Roman invasion in the 1st century AD. The Durotriges were known for their hillforts, distinctive pottery, and skilled craftsmanship. They practiced agriculture, raising animals and crops, and had a warrior culture. Their society was organized in tribes and they traded with neighboring groups. Eventually, they came under Roman control when Britain was conquered in the 1st century AD, integrating into the Roman Empire.
