Duodenoscopy

Duodenoscopy is a medical procedure used to examine the duodenum, which is the first part of the small intestine, located just after the stomach. During the procedure, a thin, flexible tube with a camera, called an endoscope, is inserted through the mouth and down the esophagus into the duodenum. This allows doctors to visualize the area, assess any abnormalities, and perform certain treatments if necessary, such as biopsy or removal of stones. Duodenoscopy is often done to investigate digestive issues, monitor conditions, or guide further medical treatment.
