Duke of Edinburgh
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a youth development program founded in 1956 that encourages young people aged 14 to 24 to challenge themselves through voluntary activities across four areas: service, skills, physical activity, and adventurous journeys. Participants set personal goals, develop new skills, and undertake community service, culminating in a graded award upon successful completion. The program aims to foster confidence, resilience, leadership, and a sense of achievement, helping young individuals prepare for future personal and professional pursuits. It is implemented in many countries and supported by the international Duke of Edinburgh’s Award organization.
