Duke Frederick
Duke Frederick is a character in William Shakespeare's play "As You Like It." He is a nobleman who rules the duchy but becomes jealous and distrustful of his nephew, Orlando. When Orlando earns the duke's suspicion, the duke usurps his brother's title and orders Orlando to leave. Later, Duke Frederick shows a capacity for villainy and cruelty, but also experiences a personal crisis that leads to remorse. His actions illustrate themes of power, envy, and redemption within the play.
