Dugong

A dugong is a marine mammal related to manatees, known for its large, streamlined body and fluked tail. It inhabits warm, shallow coastal waters in the Indian and Pacific Oceans, mainly feeding on seagrass beds. Dugongs are herbivores, spending much of their time grazing just below the water's surface. They are gentle, slow-moving creatures, often called "sea cows," and play an important role in maintaining healthy seagrass ecosystems. Due to habitat loss, hunting, and boat collisions, dugongs are considered vulnerable and require conservation efforts to ensure their survival.
