Dry Needling
Dry needling is a therapeutic technique used to treat muscle pain and tension. It involves inserting very thin needles into specific points in muscle tissue, known as trigger points. These points may be tender and contribute to pain or discomfort. The goal is to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tightness, and improve movement. Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is based on Western medicine principles. It can be performed by trained physical therapists and is often part of a broader treatment plan to enhance recovery and relief from musculoskeletal conditions.
