Dry Macular Degeneration
Dry macular degeneration is a common eye condition that affects the central part of the retina, called the macula, leading to gradual vision loss. It occurs as the light-sensitive cells in the macula break down over time, often associated with aging. Unlike the wet form, it doesn’t involve abnormal blood vessel growth. Symptoms may include blurred or dimmed vision and difficulty seeing fine details. While there is currently no cure, lifestyle changes and nutritional supplements can help slow its progression, making regular eye exams and monitoring important for those at risk.
