Dry AMD

Dry age-related macular degeneration (Dry AMD) is a common eye condition that gradually affects the part of the retina called the macula, responsible for sharp, central vision. It happens when small deposits, called drusen, form under the retina, leading to thinning and deterioration of retinal tissue. This results in blurry or reduced central vision over time, making it harder to see fine details, such as reading or recognizing faces. Dry AMD progresses slowly and currently has no cure, but regular eye check-ups and lifestyle changes can help manage and monitor the condition.
