DRS (Drag Reduction System)

The Drag Reduction System (DRS) is a technology used in Formula 1 racing to temporarily reduce aerodynamic drag on a car, allowing for increased speed on straights. When activated, DRS openings in the car's rear wing adjust to create less resistance, improving acceleration and enabling closer racing. It can only be used in designated zones on the track and typically during specific conditions, such as when a driver is within one second of the car ahead. DRS is designed to promote exciting overtakes while maintaining safety and fairness during races.
