Driver License Compact

The Driver License Compact (DLC) is an agreement among participating states in the U.S. that facilitates the sharing of driving record information. When someone commits a traffic violation in one member state, that state's authorities notify their home state, which may use this information to update the driver’s record. This system helps maintain consistent traffic enforcement and licensing standards nationwide. Essentially, it allows states to collaborate to ensure drivers are held accountable for violations, regardless of where they occur, promoting safer roads and more consistent licensing practices across participating states.
