Dragoons

Dragoons were a type of military cavalry unit that originated in the 17th century. Unlike traditional cavalry, which primarily fought mounted, dragoons were trained to fight on foot as well. The term "dragoon" originally referred to a type of firearm that these soldiers carried. Over time, dragoons became known for their versatility, able to engage in both mounted and dismounted combat.
