Draft (Military)
A military draft is a system where the government requires certain individuals to serve in the armed forces, usually during times of war or national emergency. It is a method of conscription, meaning people are selected, often through a lottery or registration process, to fulfill their military duty. Not everyone is drafted; exemptions can apply based on age, health, or other factors. The purpose of a draft is to ensure there are enough personnel to support national defense efforts when voluntary recruitment alone is insufficient.
