Dr. Tasuku Honjo is a renowned Japanese immunologist who discovered a key protein called PD-1, which regulates the immune system's response to prevent overactivity. In 2018, he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine alongside James P. Allison for their discoveries improving cancer treatment.
