Dr. Miklós Nyiszli was a Hungarian Jewish physician and pathologist who was forced to work at Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Under the supervision of the camp’s SS doctors, he performed autopsies on victims to study the effects of Nazi experiments. Despite the horrors he witnessed and participated in, Nyiszli secretly documented his experiences, providing a rare and detailed account of life inside the camp. After the war, he shared his stories and insights through writings to help preserve the memory of those who suffered and to contribute to understanding the atrocities committed during the Holocaust.
