Dr. Edmund Schulman

Dr. Edmund Schulman was a pioneering scientist in the field of dendrochronology, the study of tree rings. He is best known for discovering the existence of “Old World” bristlecone pines in the United States and decoding their tree rings to establish that these trees could live for thousands of years. His work provided critical tools for precisely dating historical artifacts and understanding climate patterns over millennia. Schulman’s research significantly advanced our knowledge of long-term environmental change and the natural history of some of Earth's oldest living organisms.
