Dr. Crohn

Dr. Burrill Crohn was an American gastroenterologist known for co-discovering Crohn’s disease, a type of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) characterized by chronic inflammation of the digestive tract. He, alongside his colleagues in the 1930s, identified this condition, which can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue, and weight loss. Crohn's disease can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, but is most commonly found in the ileum (the last part of the small intestine). Understanding and managing Crohn's disease has significantly improved since its discovery, with various treatments available today.
