DPM (Direct Part Marking)
Direct Part Marking (DPM) is a method of permanently engraving or marking information—such as serial numbers, barcodes, or QR codes—directly onto a product or component. This technique ensures the data stays with the item throughout its lifecycle, even under harsh conditions like exposure to chemicals, heat, or abrasion. DPM is commonly used in industries like aerospace, automotive, and electronics for traceability, quality control, and warranty purposes. Unlike labels or stickers, DPM cannot be easily removed or lost, making it a reliable way to identify and track parts over time.
