Douglas Daedalus (military aircraft)
The Douglas Daedalus was a proposed early 20th-century military aircraft designed for reconnaissance and strategic bombing. It was a large, multi-engine biplane with considerable payload capacity, intended to gather intelligence and deliver bombs over enemy territories. Although it was developed during a period of rapid aviation innovation, the Daedalus never advanced beyond the prototype stage and was not mass-produced. It represented an exploratory step in military aviation, helping to understand large aircraft design, but ultimately was overshadowed by more successful, later aircraft in military history.
