Double V Campaign
The Double V Campaign was a movement during World War II advocating for two victories: one abroad against fascist and racist enemies, and one at home fighting racial prejudice against African Americans. Launched by African American newspapers, it highlighted the paradox that Black Americans were risking their lives overseas while facing discrimination and segregation at home. The campaign aimed to promote equality and justice by emphasizing the need for social progress alongside wartime patriotism. It contributed to the broader Civil Rights movement, inspiring African Americans to seek greater civil rights and challenge systemic racism.
