double elimination
Double elimination is a tournament format where a player or team is not eliminated after their first loss. Instead, they move into a secondary bracket, giving them a second chance to stay in the competition. Only after a second loss do they get eliminated. This system provides a fairer chance by allowing participants to recover from an early setback, reducing the impact of a single poor performance. The tournament continues until one competitor remains undefeated in the main bracket and the most successful in the losers’ bracket, often culminating in a final match to determine the winner.
